About Me:

So this is my blog.  Simply put, I want to help others, and myself, to become healthier.  I am a Political Science Major gone Nutritionist (so forgive my favoratism toward food politic blog posts).  I started this blog as I began my journey to become a holistic health coach just over a year and a half ago.  My schooling has forever changed my life.  I have a passion for health and nutrition, and an even bigger passion to assist people in their health related goals.

About a year and a half ago, my increasing desire for nutrition lead me to attend school at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition based in New York, where I learned the ins and outs of health and nutrition.   I underwent the best training I have ever before received in every aspect relating to health: dieting, fitness, meditation, cooking, relationships, and (my favorite) craving control, only to name a few.  Before I knew it I was a certified Holistic Health Coach!  This brings me to the present.  I currently work full time at a law firm in downtown Salt Lake City and I absolutely love my job. I am also a practicing Holistic Health Coach with an ever increasing desire to meet and coach people.

In the past I hesitated to fully embrace becoming a health coach because I myself am definitely not perfect in my nutrition.  I am most likely the world’s biggest yo-yoer.  But my health challenges have become as big a part of my education as my schooling.  They have helped me to embrace the reality of what being healthy is all about.  Healthy is not being a size four if you’re naturally a size eight.  Healthy is not living at the gym.  Healthy is not constantly forcing yourself to eat foods you don’t like.  Healthy is not hating the person you see in the mirror.  I believe real health is finding balance in all areas of your life.  Health is living a lifestyle sustainable and optimal for your body type.  Health is being honest with yourself and relearning how to enjoy the every day journey.

If you are curious to know more about what a health coach does, how it can benefit you, or how you can become a health coach yourself, please contact me by clicking on the CONTACT tab on the main page.  Cheers!
